This was a once in a lifetime project. This project was so massive it took 3 years to complete. Believe it or not this was an addition to the already large home.
First we started out adding a porte-cochère to the front of the original home.
The next project was to remove the existing pool house and build an enclosed pool house with a retractable roof system, heating and air-conditioning, bathroom facilities and a kitchen.
Then came the real challenge, adding a 20,000 S.F. addition to the existing house. This addition starts out with a 10,000 S.F. underground garage. The garage has its own oil changing pit just like Jiffy Lube, a beautiful terrazzo floor and a car washing area. Above the main floor of the garage we built a 3,500 S.F. Mezzanine. Here is where we installed a two lane bowling alley with automatic pin centers, just like the real thing. As part of the basement we installed an underground wine tunnel. This tunnel houses a huge wine collection and has a domed tasting room for sampling wine. Above the garage there is a large auto court for the client’s cars. This court as well as the driveway, has a snow melting system so you never have to shovel snow. It’s at this point that the addition to the main house was built. This addition boasts 2 elevators, a gym, gourmet kitchen, butler’s pantry, great room, pool room, sun room that connects to the indoor sports arena and 3 master bedrooms. The exterior of the home is as spectacular as the interior. All the walls were fitted with real stone cut by master stone masons and fitted piece by piece. All the exterior trim was done in limestone that was quarried and hand cut, and then shipped to the job site to be installed by the masons. Large arched windows completes the picture.
It was an honor and a pleasure to be involved in this project. It was hard demanding work but incredible satisfying.
