This house was built in the 50’s and it was a real mess. The previous owner had abandoned the property and it was up to Craftsman Construction to save it. The first thing we did was dig up the entire foundation and waterproof it. After this we completely gutted the interior and removed the roof. We reframed the 2nd floor with beautiful large dormers.
We added a second bathroom upstairs and a new one downstairs. The addition of a front porch adds a lot of character and the rear deck adds space for entertaining. The house originally had a heater in the basement with a hole in the floor for heat. We decided since the house was so small that we didn’t want to lose any space for duct work or a central heating unit. We went with split zone heating and air in each room by Mitsubishi. These units are very efficient and take up little space. A magnificent gourmet kitchen with stainless steel appliances rounded out the project.
