When a prominent local architect needed a contractor to build his own home he turned to Craftsman Construction. Most contractors would shy away from working for an architect because of their critical eye for detail, but Craftsman Construction was up to the challenge. We worked closely with the client to help him bring his ideas to life. The unusual design and finish details, as well as the clients desire to use particular materials made for an interesting project.
Some of the design highlights include a great room with 20’ vaulted cherry ceiling installed in a herringbone pattern, an art studio to display different types of art work, a large cherry library with rolling ladder to get to the upper shelves, exposed beams and two upper sitting areas above the library. We custom crafted a one-of-a-kind staircase that leads to the master suite. All the doors were custom made out of cherry to match the library. The client designed his own moldings which we had made at a local mill out of cherry. This was one of my favorite jobs as we were able to work with a great client who had a great vision.
